Authentication and Access control are methods to give access
and apply restrictions to use of resources critical to a business.
Traditional means of authentication is achieved by passwords
only that may be stolen, guessed or known by methods of social
engineering. Ensuring the individual accessing/requesting
a resource is who he claims to be is a challenge faced by
businesses; Arwen Tech can assist customers in implementation
of such solutions derived from amongst the authentication
portfolio of Cisco Access Control, RSA SecureID integrated
with RSA ACE/Server deploying Smart Cards/Tokens or RSA KeyOn
for Digital Certificates. Arwen Tech can also implement Single
Sign On solution for access control through Central Management
and Control combined with Soft/Hard Tokens, Smart Cards or
Digital Certificates from integrated vendors of Computer Associates.
The RSA SecurID system is the world’s leading two-factor
user authentication solution. Used in conjunction with RSA
ACE/Server software, an RSA SecurID authenticator is designed
to function like an ATM card for the network, requiring users
to identify themselves with two unique factors — something
they know and something they have — before they are
granted access
Network Admission Control (NAC) is a Cisco Systems sponsored
industry initiative that uses the network infrastructure to
enforce security policy compliance on all devices seeking
to access network computing resources, thereby limiting damage
from viruses and worms. Using NAC, organizations can provide
network access to endpoint devices such as PCs, PDAs, and
servers that are verified to be fully compliant with established
security policy. NAC can also identify noncompliant devices
and deny them access, place them in a quarantined area, or
give them restricted access to computing resources. NAC is
part of the Cisco Self-Defending Network, an initiative to
increase network intelligence in order to enable the network
to automatically identify, prevent, and adapt to security
threats.
Cisco Clean Access is an easily deployed software solution
that can automatically detect, isolate, and clean infected
or vulnerable devices that attempt to access your network.
It identifies whether networked devices such as laptops, personal
digital assistants, even game consoles are compliant with
your network's security policies and repairs any vulnerability
before permitting access to the network.
